TALENT-LED CONTENT SERIES
During my time at Prime Video, I built a Talent Production team that focused on ideating and producing social formats with Amazon talent. The intention was to develop social series that could be ownable to the Prime Video brand, while feeling native to social media platforms (adaptable to short and mid-form). It was a priority for me that these series not only engaged the social customer, but also felt fun and exciting for our talent. Here are a few of my favorites that I personally pitched and/or produced in partnership with a talented team of editors and writers.
“Face Time”
A series where talent interviews each other while painting their costar on canvas. They reveal their masterpieces to each other at the end of the interview.
“Roll Playback”
A series where talent watches and live-reacts to some of their most iconic scenes, often together with their scene partner to start a dialogue with behind-the-scenes storytelling.
“Unbox The Plot”
Cast unboxes an Amazon package full of props and objects that relate back to the plot of their show or movie. Without giving away spoilers, they discuss how the item is related to the plot.
CREATOR-LED CONTENT SERIES
I’m passionate about collaborating with artists, makers and creators leveraging unique forms of media to create digital eye-candy. These pioneers of innovation on the Internet consistently make the most interesting and engaging social content; during my time at Prime Video, it was my personal mission to identify these types of creators and partner with them to create content for our brand. Here are a few creator initiatives that I pitched, produced, and developed into recurring formats.
“In The Mini Kitchen” with @MiniKitchenIndia
This series brings together Brand, Creator, and Talent in a format that celebrates the cultural heritage of Amazon talent through the lens of food and cooking. Originally intended to celebrate AAPI Month, the positive response from the first few videos led it to becoming a go-to format for celebrating the diverse heritage of Prime Video’s global talent base.
“Stencil Stop-Mo” with @RudyWillingham
Early in my tenure at Prime Video, I identified Rudy Willingham as a creator who could make eye-catching social content for some of our original titles. Our first partnership with Rudy and Justin Bieber for his new documentary “Our World” was such a hit that he became an instant go-to partner in our creator rolodex.
“Becoming” Character Transformations with Various Artists
In partnership with hair, makeup, and cosplay artists, I developed the “Becoming” transformation series as a way to promote Prime Video’s character-driven shows and movies like The Boys, Mrs. Maisel, Fleabag, The Wheel of Time, and more.
VIRAL HITS & AWARDS
The core to any successful social strategy is developing ideas that can break through the noise. While the “always on” content is critical to maintaining your identity and engagement, it’s the big swings that put a brand on the map. Here are a few initiatives I led that made headlines, reached virality, and/or received industry award recognition.
Lizzo’s Big Grrrls Multi-Artist Animation
In March 2022, International Women’s Day intersected with the launch of a new reality show on Prime Video called “Lizzo’s Watch Out For The Big Grrrls.” I saw an opportunity to spotlight international women artists in tandem with the release of the show through a multi-artist collaboration featuring Lizzo’s Big Grrrls. This illustrated stop-motion piece features the art of 22 women from across the globe, and it went on to receive 2 Webby Awards in the Arts & Entertainment category at the 2023 Webby’s.
